As I currently post this the snow falls heavier and heavier. I went to work today in a pair of RM Williams boots. They are quite dressy and after a few steps it dawned on me "I am going to break my neck in these" they certainly are not ECCO Shoes . So along came my chance to make the best footwear selection I think I have ever made. That is quite a statement after all I have over a dozen pairs of Ecco shoes on the go alone. Yes, I'm that happy with these boots! I have a pair of Chiltern Track they were however left at home (big mistake really) so I selected a pair of Dhaka Mid boots. I have had my eye on these for some time so today had to be the day. There are some features to this boot that makes it stand out. It has a Yak leather upper. The Yak leather is stronger in some tests it is twice as strong. It has a distinctive grain and is thicker. The Dhaka also has a Receptor Technology rubber sole. This today proved the real winner. Every step I took felt sure and true. Compacted snow just felt like normal pavement. The tread just takes it all. In short the boots gave me full confidence to walk a full two miles whilst everyone else stayed at home. The ECCO sandals was happy and the last bonus was that my feet were bone dry. The Dhaka boot is Goretex lined. Not a drop of water got in and my feet were warmed by the lining doing its job. That was the real big plus. The boot gets a 10 / 10, the only problem will be that as the weather gets worse I am sure the stock will all go!
